September 21st 2008: Capital D comes to Blanchardstown! RTE One's popular evening show Capital D visited Blanchardstown recently to see what makes one of Ireland's oldest bands tick! The Blanchardstown Brass Band were featured on the show which aired on Thursday last (18th September) at 7pm. The band's chairman John Bates introduced the band and gave the producers a brief synopsis of their 180 year+ history. Interviews with band members Joe McGregor, Eugene Tully & Avril Roche were also aired and performances from the band in rehersal and in concert at Farmleigh were also showed. The documentary on the band lasted for approximately 10 minutes and was a great showcase for the band. Positive reviews from RTE, Capital D's producers and the general public have been warmly received.
