News Jan 5th 2005: Charlie Conlon passed away
A retired member of the band passed away on the 1st of January. Charlie Conlon
joined the band 70 years ago, when he was just 13, and played the drums until
he fell ill about two and a half years ago. He was the longest serving member
of the band and will be sorely missed by those who knew, and played, with him.
Charlie was removed to St. Matthew's Church, Ballyfermot, on the 4th and was
buried in Palmerstown Cemetary the following day. The band would like to extend
their sympathies to Charlie's family on this sad occasion.
