News May 24th 2006: Fingal Council honour the band
Fingal Council presented the members of Blanchardstown Brass Band with a crystal vase in honour of the Band's 180th anniversary. The event took place during the recent Memory Makers' Senior Citizen awards ceremony, which was held in Westmanstown Sports Complex on Thursday 17th May 2006. This is a yearly award ceremony run by the Councils Arts Section that celebrates the arts & crafts produced by the Senior Citizens throughout the Fingal area. This year the Council decided to present the Band with a special award to honour it 180th year and Chairman John Bates accepted the award on behalf of the Band. |
