News Oct 9th 2004: Band wins the 'Unregistered Section' of the South East Brass &
Reed Band's competition
The Band, in their first foray into the world of competitive performing, scooped
first prize in the 'Unregistered Section' of the 21st South East Region Brass
and Reed Bands' competition. The competition took place in Arklow town and was
attended by many bands from all corners of the country. The competition was judged
by Derek Broadbent, one of Europe's leading arrangers of brass music, who was
full of praise for the achievement of the Blanchardstown Brass Band.
The winners of the categories were as follows:
Unregistered Section: Blanchardstown Brass Band
Intermediate Concert: Midleton Concert Band
Intermediate Brass: Ennis Brass Band
Senior Concert: Dublin Concert Band
Senior Brass: Arklow Silver Band
