December 24th 2008: Happy Christmas & New Year from the Blanchardstown Brass Band The Blanchardstown Brass Band would like to wish all its listeners and those who've visited this site a very Happy Christmas & New Year. The band has had a very successful year this year, performing 22 times in all in 2008, not band for an amateur band! In addition many of our members branched out and performed with different bands in a variety of different locations throughout the year. This year saw the band peform on TV three times, RTE, TV3 and TG4. The band also performed with a few different groups throughout the year including a Dutch male choir and an award winning Welsh band. Another first for the band this year was performing German music at an Oktoberfest celebration in November!! All in all it was a very successful year for the band and we hope that 2009 will be equally so. We hope it will be a very successful year for all our listeners too, Happy Christmas! |
